Kladno – Kladno announced a tender for a comprehensive renovation of the Bažantnice Summer Swimming Pool. The work will begin after the summer swimming season of 2025. The costs will be around 112 million crowns excluding VAT. The current pool will be replaced by a new stainless steel pool with a modified simplified shape, attractions, and a new children's area, answered Kladno City Hall spokesman Vít Heral in response to a query from ČTK.

The adjustments will also affect the pool terraces. "The machinery room for pool technology will be expanded and modified to accommodate the installation of the newly proposed pool water treatment equipment," the spokesman added. During the reconstruction, the city will also build new accumulation tanks and underground machinery rooms for water attractions.

The Bažantnice Summer Swimming Pool is located in the Bažantnice forest park in Kladno, near the Kročehlavy housing estate and the village of Hřebeč. It features an atypical whale-shaped pool with a depth of 0.2 to two meters. "The architectural and layout solution of the reconstructed parts of the swimming pool is based on the overall concept of the swimming pool area and remains entirely preserved," Heral added.
