Most – The city of Most has announced a public tender for the renovation of the Repre cultural house, as reported by ČTK. The city hall plans to relocate the library to the building, which has faced protests from some local residents. The costs for this largest investment in the city in recent years are estimated to be in the hundreds of millions of crowns. The reconstruction will also include the building's interior and the surrounding area.

Bids for the general contractor competition can be submitted until March 4. The reconstruction is divided into four phases, with the first phase potentially starting at the end of this year.

The idea to move the library to Repre dates back to 2015, when the cultural house, originally intended for demolition, was returned to the city from the company Crestyl, initiating plans for its modernization. A static survey showed that moving the library there is feasible.

The current library building from the 1980s is in poor technical condition, and according to the city’s leadership, its renovation would be costly. A segment of the public in Most is opposed to the move, and a petition against this proposal has been created. "It seems that the petition with signatures from more than 2000 citizens against the relocation of the library, presented at the council meeting in December last year, had no influence on the decision-making of the city council of Most," stated opposition councilor Adam Komenda.

The building from the late 1980s features a large dance hall, a planetarium, and hosts balls, musical, and social events. It includes a restaurant with a terrace and water area. The city administration intends to finance the investment with saved funds.
