The Club for Old Prague will award the Club Prize for the ninth time, honoring quality new buildings in a historic environment. The purpose of the award is to highlight the fact that there are also positive examples of sensitive architectural interventions in historically valuable contexts.

The following projects (sorted alphabetically by location) have advanced to the shortlist of buildings nominated for the 2012 Prize:

  • Brno, multifunctional building on Milady Horákové Street: Helena Boráková, Dalibor Borák, Martin Příhoda.
  • Mikulov, Závodný Gallery: architect Štěpán Děnge.
  • Ostrava, polyclinic on Kostelní Street: Martin Materna, Adam Weczerek, WMA Architects.
  • Prague, modification of the U Božích Muk bastion: Pavla Melková-Miroslav Cikán
  • Přerov, Tyrš Bridge: Alena Šrámková, Lukáš Ehl, Tomáš Koumar, static engineers Ing. Milan Komínek and Ing. Ladislav Dvořák, sculptural decoration Ivana Šrámková.
  • Valašské Meziříčí, multifunctional building on Polášková Street: Tomáš Kupka.
  • Žatec, atrium of the Museum of Hops and the lookout tower: Jiří Vaníček, Pavel Huml, Petr Bažant, Blanka Zernerová, Eva Zelenková, Karel Hrách, František Zlatohlávek, Huml+Vaníček firm.
The festive public announcement of the winner of the Club for Old Prague Prize for 2012 will take place at the Mlynská Café in Kampa on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at 7 PM. The Club for Old Prague warmly invites you to participate in this announcement and to meet with the nominated candidates for the Prize as well as others interested in the issues of heritage conservation and contemporary architecture.
