Pribyslav - Pribyslav in the Havlíčkův Brod region is preparing an architectural competition, which will produce proposals for the renovation of Bechyňa Square. The city aims to complete the documentation for the assignment this month, and the public can also express their opinions, said deputy mayor Michael Omes (for KDU-ČSL) to ČTK. Architects will ask people directly in the square on Tuesday, April 11.
The public meeting will start an hour before noon, and people can engage in the discussion until 5:00 PM. "They have the opportunity to talk to the architects, share their opinions on how they see the square, its functions, what they would like, what they currently do not like," Omes said. In addition to this meeting, the city is organizing further activities with stakeholders affected by the project, such as property owners, utility companies, and entrepreneurs.
The city hall is collaborating with the studio tečka on preparing the assignment for the architectural competition. The deadline for announcing the competition has not yet been firmly established. The city hopes to have a contract for the project completed by June next year at the latest.
The four-thousand-inhabitant Pribyslav has been preparing for the renovations of the large square for some time. However, the city councilors elected last autumn agreed not to proceed according to the study completed in the previous electoral term, but rather to use it in case the architectural competition is unsuccessful. This was stated by mayor Martin Kamarád (ODS).
The costs for the renovation of the square, according to the mayor's rough estimate, could be around 150 million crowns. "The question is how the prices of construction work will move, and on the other hand, how filled the construction market will be," he said. The construction is expected to be divided into two to three phases. "This is necessary for the functioning of the square," Kamarád stated. He added that during this electoral term, the city hall aims to initiate at least the first phase of the construction work.
