Prague - Among the nominations for the title Building of the Year 2011, a diverse array of objects has appeared this year as well. For the favor of the expert jury, new university campuses, a family house, a hydropower plant with a fish passage, and a renovated square are competing, for example. The public can simultaneously vote online until October 3rd in the competition for the best Prague building of the year 2011. This was announced today by ABF - Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction. As in previous years, this year's nineteenth edition of the competition is open to all objects regardless of the type of construction or the amount of costs incurred for their acquisition. "The competition is announced to support the quality comprehensive realization of construction works, from the rough construction to the craft detail," the organizers stated.
The condition for applying for the Building of the Year competition was completion and commissioning or approval in the period from June 2010 to this May.
The title of Building of the Year will be awarded to five objects without distinction of order. They will be selected by an expert jury led by architect Radomíra Sedláková. The announcement of the competition results will take place on October 3rd in the Senate as part of the fifth edition of the Days of Construction and Architecture.
