Tišnov (Brno Region) - In Tišnov, located in the Brno Region, the historic Míru Square will be completely reconstructed in the coming years. The city council recently approved the plan to announce an architectural-urban competition, from which the future appearance of the square will emerge. The winner will prepare the project documentation next year, stated the mayor's assistant, Renáta Koupilová, in a press release. The preparatory team should prepare the competition materials by the end of the year. "The aim of the project is the overall revitalization and regeneration of the city center, which we want to return to its original function as the historical and cultural core of the city. The historic town hall is also located in the square," Koupilová stated. Mayor Jan Schneider pointed out that the current condition of the paving, furniture, and greenery does not meet the needs of the residents or the representation of the city. The reconstruction of Míru Square has been a long-term topic in Tišnov. Within the framework of the National Architectural Competition for the Petr Parléř Award, several studies proposing a new shape for the city center were created in 2007. Tišnov is also trying to modernize other parts of the city. This year, the reconstruction of the swimming pool is starting, a repaired and digitized cinema has begun operating, and tens of millions are going into the expansion of the primary school.
