Already the 14th edition of the largest international showcase in Central Europe, which annually presents a selection of modern wooden buildings realized according to the projects of architects, warmly invites all those interested in creative and high-quality modern wooden architecture to VNITROBLOCK in Prague's Holešovice on February 9 - 10, 2019.

The organizers of the Salon - architects Prodesi/Domesi (Prague) for the Czech Republic and the association ARCHA (Bratislava) for Slovakia have prepared an interesting professional and cultural program for the wider public as well as for creators in the field of wooden architecture and construction. Two days at VNITROBLOCK dedicated to modern wooden constructions will be filled with valuable inspirations, interesting information, and a space for acquiring, exchanging, and sharing serious experiences and opinions.

The opening of the Salon of Wooden Structures will take place already on February 8, 2019, at 7:00 PM in the CAMP space - Center for Architecture and Urban Planning with a lecture on the tallest wooden building in the world - HoHo Wien. The main actor of the event will be one of the authors of the architectural design of the 24-story tower in Vienna, a pioneering construction with a hybrid structure consisting of 75% wood and 25% concrete - Austrian architect Oliver Sterl from the office RLP Rüdiger Lainer + Partner, Wien. The lecture will be accompanied by a discussion with other experts and short presentations on current trends in modern wooden architecture worldwide, featuring architects Pavel Horák, director of the Salon of Wooden Structures, and Ľubica Fábri, director of the Salon of Wooden Structures in Slovakia.

On February 9 and 10, visitors can look forward to the exhibition Salon of Wooden Structures 2019 at VNITROBLOCK - a non-competitive showcase that will present a total of 38 selected modern wooden buildings on posters - 36 of which were built in the past year in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. They are complemented by wooden buildings from guests from Poland and Austria, which, together with all the buildings from the exhibition, are presented in the publication - Yearbook of Wooden Structures 2018 - which will be available for purchase at the event, along with other interesting titles about wooden constructions.

The main accompanying lecture program of the Salon - Mosaic of Wooden Structures - will take place on both days, February 9 and 10, during which more than 15 architects and other experts will present their realized wooden houses and constructions. The advantages and charm of wooden structures built using progressive technology from solid wooden panels will be presented to interested visitors by the main partner of this year’s Salon - NOVATOP, which is preparing to showcase several interesting projects from its portfolio built in the Czech Republic and abroad. The Saturday program will conclude with a musical guest - Justin Lavash with a guitar recital starting at 6:00 PM, which is worth enjoying!
