Prague - People will once again be able to view construction projects that have taken place or will take place in the center of the metropolis. This year's, already the tenth edition of the traditional exhibition "The Future and Present of Prague 1," will take place in a tent at the lower part of Wenceslas Square from October 12 to 18, the city hall of the first municipal district informed ČTK.

Among the most interesting projects will be, according to information from the city hall, the results of the competition for the modification of Wenceslas Square. Last year, the competition for the future appearance of the square was clearly won by the design of the Cigler Marani Architects studio. The expert jury praised the study for being based on the history of the square, while also being contemporary and very sensitive. The proposal adds a second row of trees to the square, leaving the middle area for a pedestrian promenade or tram line. It widens the sidewalks, and according to the study, parked cars would disappear from the square. The proposal also limits the number of stalls.
People will also be able to see the plans for the new Myšák Gallery building, which is currently under construction on Vodičková Street, and a multifunctional building on Novomlýnská and Lannova Streets. Other projects include the renovation of the U Hybernů house, which has become a musical stage, Pacht's Palace, and modifications to the building on Revoluční Street for the Prague House of Photography. Further plans will introduce interior modifications of buildings, which include the Czech Center on Rytířská Street and a number of restaurants and newly opened hotels in the center of the metropolis.
Last year, more than 8,000 people visited the exhibition. Over the past nine editions, nearly 65,000 interested parties have visited the presentation tent.
