Prague - Interested parties will be able to see what the modifications of the area on Pankrác Plain will look like after the completion of the buildings of the project called City. The exhibition started today at the information center of the Prague 4 City Hall. A similar exhibition is also in the City Empiria building, the former Motokov, the organizers informed ČTK. The area will be divided into two parts according to the vision of the investor company ECM. One is supposed to become a vibrant urban center, while the other will serve for relaxation. Four squares will be created, and visitors to the exhibition can vote in a poll on their names. Several civic associations have been protesting against ECM's plans to build additional high-rise buildings in Pankrác for a long time. They state that such developments will not benefit local residents and will only increase the area's traffic burden. The associations also argue that high-rise buildings could lead to Prague being removed from the UNESCO list. They have even filed administrative lawsuits. According to the representatives of the investor, people will benefit from the project, as it anticipates, for example, the creation of a cultural center and spaces for shops and services. They disagree with the claim that new buildings could jeopardize Prague's position on the list of cultural heritage. Prague's conservationists share this opinion. Two more high-rise buildings are to be added to the existing ones in Pankrác. Unlike the original plans, they are not supposed to exceed the height of City Empiria.
