Litomyšl – Litomyšl in Svitavy will launch a program for the World Architecture Day on Friday, September 29. The event called ArchiMyšl will last until the end of the weekend and will guide participants through modern architecture in Litomyšl. Michaela Severová, head of the Department of Culture and Tourism, informed ČTK about this. This program is being organized by the city for the twelfth time.
On Saturday morning, people can take a guided tour of modern architectural buildings in Litomyšl. They will be led by the city architect Zdeňka Vydrová. In the afternoon, there will also be a walk on the new footbridge over I/35, along with representatives from the Ehl-Koumar architectural office.
This year, the program "Bring Your Slippers" will also take place. People have the opportunity to visit recently renovated buildings that feature elements of modern architecture.
"Their peculiarity, however, is that people usually do not have the chance to look inside them. There will be an opportunity to ask the investors. Architect Jiří Šafr will guide us through the Školamyšl building. We are also trying to arrange a tour of some parts of the castle that are currently under reconstruction," said Severová.
Following that, there will be a discussion "For a Beer Not Just with Architects" in the Castle Riding School, with invitations accepted by Josef Pleskot and Jana Vohralíková. "They had already met years ago during the revitalization of the castle brewery in Litomyšl, and today they are working together at Prague Castle. The very end of the evening will feature a night tour of the Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross," Severová stated.
On Sunday afternoon, there will be a guided walk in Zdeněk Kopal Park with the proposal's author Eva Wagnerová. Afterwards, there will be a discussion with Štěpán Jílek and Pavel Mrověc, the authors of the new liturgical equipment in the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
