Bohumín - In the previously problematic area of Petra Cingra near the center of Bohumín in Karviná, new construction plots could emerge within five years. The city plans to build up to 40 serviced lots there. The plots for family homes will be both on green fields and in place of demolished dilapidated city buildings. The last of these is expected to be demolished next year, said city spokesperson Lucie Kolková to ČTK.
The city has commissioned a study for the transformation of the area, which includes serviced plots of a maximum size of 1,000 square meters. Among the future family homes, the city plans to maintain an undeveloped area where a small park for relaxation with various attractions will be created, linking the existing housing of family houses with the new ones. At the same time, the city will also utilize the local water area for the park. "We first need to drain the area and prepare it for servicing and subdivision. We will also plant new greenery here. Once everything is ready, we will offer the plots for sale through auction, similar to those in Záblatí on Slunečná Street. There is increasing interest in this type of housing among people. Therefore, we are diligently searching for and working on preparing additional locations that would be suitable for the construction of family houses," said Deputy Mayor Lumír Macura (ČSSD).
There was significant interest in the ten plots that the city offered on Slunečná Street. Only one plot now remains vacant.
In the area of Petra Cingra, there were previously seven problematic houses with about a hundred fourth-category apartments. Most of the houses have already been demolished by the city, and the last one is now awaiting demolition.
From the offer of plots for family development, the city expects the arrival of new families. The spokesperson stated that the city is well equipped in terms of services. The 22,000-inhabitant Bohumín also offers a variety of leisure activities, from sports to cultural, including the Bospor sports and recreation area with an aquacenter, a Hobbypark for children featuring a ropes course and a farm with domestic animals, as well as a sports hall and adventure golf.
