Polyclinic in Lesná, architect: Libuše Kopřivíková
Brno - This year, Brno will begin the reconstruction of the polyclinic in the Lesná housing estate in the Brno-sever district. It will be completed next year. It will cost 127 million crowns. Of this, 30 million will be provided by the district and the rest by the city. The mayor's deputy Petr Hladík (KDU-ČSL) told reporters today. The work will briefly limit the operation of the clinics in the polyclinic, but always only for two weeks for one specific doctor.
The work will affect the basement, which is currently empty. New rental spaces will be created there. In the next phase, the builders will insulate the building. "Insulation will begin next year depending on the weather, probably in the spring. It will have 12 stages. Each of them will last two weeks and during this time will always affect a specific doctor," Hladík stated.
According to him, this is because the doctor can take two weeks of vacation without having to report it to the insurance company, which would have to look for a replacement clinic in the case of a longer absence. "We will meet with the doctors in November, and each will receive a schedule of when their specific office will be insulated. This way they can inform their patients and arrange their vacation," Hladík added.
The building dates back to the 1970s. It has two floors above ground and a basement. Since its opening, according to Hladík, no major repairs have been carried out, which is why the object suffers from energy losses due to old windows.
In the coming years, the city plans to repair the internal water, heating, electricity, and waste systems, but also wants to change the layout and work on the parking lot. The polyclinic serves an area with 50,000 inhabitants. About 40 doctors of various specialties work there. Brno received the polyclinic from the state in 2005 when it was transferred to the responsibility of the city district.
