The Architecture and Urban Planning Center (CAMP) invites visitors on a journey around the world. They can expect 10 weeks of a colorful summer program, during which they will visit New York, Tokyo, Copenhagen, Paris, and Venice from the comfort of a garden lounge chair with a themed drink in hand. The program, entitled From City to City, will feature regular Thursday summer cinema and refreshments, as well as guided lectures and tours of the five global metropolises. The summer season begins on July 14 at 7:00 PM with a guided walk through New York by architect Adam Gebrian.
The Architecture and Urban Planning Center turns into the Center for Architecture and Urban Wandering during the summer. This year, although you may not visit Paris, Tokyo, or New York, you can prepare brilliantly. CAMP has prepared a 10-week summer program (from July 14 to September 20, 2020) called From City to City. No passport, visa, preventive quarantine, or extra baggage fees are required. Just hop on the imaginary teleport amidst the gardens of the Institute for Planning and Development of the City of Prague and set off on a journey around the world. The summer program will follow the route of New York, Tokyo, Venice, Paris, and Copenhagen. Every fourteen days will focus on a specific city. Visitors can look forward to regular Thursday summer cinema, which is free of charge. The program includes films such as A Rainy Day in New York, Midnight in Paris, Before Sunset, or the popular film Bistro Ramen.

The summer program will kick off with a lecture and guided walk through New York by Adam Gebrian, which will use the magnificent twenty-five-meter projection wall in CAMP's main hall. You will learn what lies behind the windowless skyscraper on Thomas Street or what one of the most expensive public-funded buildings might look like. You'll visit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum built on the site of the original World Trade Center or the queen of travel social media, the viewing tower Vessel by British architect Thomas Heatherwick, enlivening the ever-changing Hudson Yards neighborhood. Stops at the world metropolises will be accompanied by themed refreshments, food trucks, and 5 signature drinks.

In addition to the summer program, CAMP has also prepared a second series of suburban camps for children aged 9 to 15 called Camp in CAMP. If your child treats stationery like a candy store, has eternally glued fingers from glue, and loves observing the world around, the camp at CAMP is just right for them. At the camp, children will try designing their own project in a group, just like architects and urban planners do. In addition, they will explore different materials, watch several short films, participate in a scavenger hunt, and do yoga. The camp will take place from August 24 to August 28, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, costs 2,900 CZK, and applications can be sent to [email protected].

The summer program is free. The cinema takes place every Thursday from July 16 to September 17, always after dark. Stay tuned for details about the program at praha.camp.
