Česká Třebová - Česká Třebová in the Orlickoústecko region will transform the New Square in the coming years, which is the largest in the city and has its design from the 1960s. The city will complement the architectural design, which has existed for several years, with a study on parking. This was stated by Deputy Mayor Dalibor Zelený (ČSSD).

The previous administration also considered modernizing the area. They commissioned an urban-architectural study, and in 2015, 14 proposals were gathered. The cost of repairs was then estimated in the tens of millions of crowns. City representatives want to update the study with an analysis of the need for parking spaces.

"There is a need to repair the sidewalks and change the greenery. However, there has been a significant increase in the number of cars on the surrounding streets. Additionally, there is a reconstruction of the former hotel, where 90 apartments will be located; those people will not just walk," said Zelený.

The city is preparing the parking study with the Faculty of Transportation Engineering at the University of Pardubice, which will propose possible additional ground parking lots, or potentially underground parking. Česká Třebová already has a large underground parking garage at the train station.

"We want to have a clear long-term concept that makes sense. It would be a waste of money if, for example, we did a landscaping adjustment with benches now, and in six months, we started digging because we would need parking," stated the deputy mayor.
