Faculty of Architecture CTU in Prague Seeks New Dean

The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague (FA) has announced elections for the dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague for a four-year term starting from February 1, 2022, in accordance with Act No. 111/1998 Coll. on Higher Education Institutions and related regulations in their valid wording and according to the Rules of Procedure of the AS FA CTU in Prague.

At the end of January 2022, the second term of the dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU, Prof. Ing. arch. Ladislav Lábus, hon. FAIA, will conclude. The faculty is now looking for a worthy successor who will further develop it. The dean has a significant influence on the direction of the school, and their election should not be indifferent to any member of the academic community.

Any member of the academic community of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU, including all academic staff, educators, vice-deans, heads of departments, or students, can propose a candidate for the dean. Nominations for candidates are submitted to the electoral committee. A candidate’s inclusion on the ballot requires the consent of the proposed candidate confirmed by their handwritten signature, a brief professional resume prepared by them, and an electoral program.

Candidates should submit their proposals (applications) along with contact information in a sealed envelope clearly marked "ELECTION OF THE DEAN OF FA CTU", either in person in exchange for a "confirmation of submission" at the office of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague, or send it by registered mail to the address: Office FA CTU, Academic Senate, Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague, Thákurova 9, 166 34 Prague 6.

The dean is elected by 15 members of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU, consisting of 10 senators from among educators and 5 senators from among students. They will be the ones who have the final say in the election, and their opinion is therefore crucial.

Schedule for the election of the candidate for the dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague announced by the Committee for the Election of the Dean of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU in Prague:

• The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Architecture of the CTU announced the election of the dean at the meeting on June 16, 2021
• Beginning of the elections on July 1, 2021
• Deadline for submitting proposals for candidates October 27, 2021, by 12:00 PM.
• Meeting (public appearance of candidates) on November 4, 2021, at 6:00 PM (room No. 155). In case of anti-pandemic measures that do not allow for an in-person format, the election meeting will be held online. Details will be published in time in such cases.
• Election of the candidate for the dean on November 10, 2021
• Start of the term on February 1, 2022
