The Faculty of Arts in Brno has been renovated, it has a new entrance and reading room

During the reconstruction, some workplaces were in temporary and rented spaces. "The interim measures are behind us, and now we can take a breath," said the faculty dean Milan Pol.

The school gradually repaired the individual buildings over several years. In the past two years, builders focused on buildings C and D, and now only details remain to be finalized.

According to Rector Mikuláš Bek, a cozy campus has emerged in the city center, offering an inspiring environment for teaching and research in the humanities. "Their importance is no less for society today than that of the natural sciences," Bek stated.

The reconstructed entrance to the complex has brought a visible change. The repaired building D, with changed interior layout, now has six floors of classrooms and reconstructed engineering networks, new windows, and insulation. Work on the neighboring building C focused mainly on the compromised statics. Workers also replaced floors and installations, repaired the central heating, and partially updated the water supply and sewage systems.

Students of the faculty will find a new reading room for materials and an electronic information resources study room in the former passageway of building D. This space also serves for cultural events. According to the dean, a frequent complaint from students in the past was the lack of study places for groups. Therefore, study boxes will also be provided for them, where they can discuss the material with their classmates without disturbing others.
