<Hradecký country> will announce another tender for the repair of <Dobrošov>

Hradec Králové - The Hradec Králové Region should announce a new tender for a construction company by the end of this week, which will ensure the repair of the pre-war border fortress Dobrošov in the Náchod area. This was reported by representatives of the region to ČTK today. This will already be the fourth tender. The region canceled the third one last year because the only company that applied did not meet the conditions set forth in the competition. An innovation is also the extension of the deadline for completing the fortress repairs.

"We requested an extension of the grant, which has been approved. We have extended the grant from the original deadline of November 30, 2020, to December 8, 2021," said Sylvie Velčovská, spokesperson for the Hradec Králové Region, to ČTK.

The extension of the deadline for drawing on European grants was important for the region. Failure to meet the deadline could have resulted in losing the grant, which is supposed to cover most of the costs. According to the region's leadership, the original deadline could have been met if construction work had started this spring. "Thanks to the extension of the approved grant, delays are not expected," Velčovská told ČTK.

According to her, the region also changed the assignment of the competition for the construction company. The spokesperson mentioned a revision of the project documentation without further details. According to previous statements from the region's leadership, the changes could relate to the scope of construction work or their costs. The regional office did not specify the bid price for the fourth tender today.

According to the region's leadership, the situation in the construction market has caused problems in selecting a contractor. No company submitted a proposal for the first tender. In the second round, the region received only one offer from the Litoměřice company Gardenline with a bid price of 64.9 million crowns excluding VAT. However, the company subsequently withdrew from the contract. The third tender was announced last September with a bid price of 65.2 million crowns excluding VAT. The company Redomo applied but exceeded the amount.

The Hradec Králové Region acquired the Dobrošov fortress free of charge from the army in 2015; visitor tours are organized by the Náchod museum. The fortress attracts around 30,000 visitors annually.

The Dobrošov fortress was built to protect the republic against Nazi Germany in conjunction with other border fortifications. However, it was not completed before the Munich Agreement, which ceded border territories of Czechoslovakia to Germany in September 1938.
