We invite you to the exhibition and colloquium “The Ideal Big/Small Prague, 1919/2019".
The exhibition will present a comparison of Prague plans "on the brink of an era" during a single week from May 27 to June 1, 2019 at the Lucerna Gallery.
Jubilantly and for the first time in one hundred years, it will be exhibited in the same place, in the Lucerna Palace, the legendary work by Max Urban “The Ideal Big Prague” processed in the years 1915–1918. Exclusively, twenty-four originals will be displayed here, and the entire work will be presented in the form of facsimiles.
As a historical counterpoint to Max Urban's plan, the main theses of the Metropolitan Plan will be presented. The exhibition will suggest a possible development of the city in the twenty-first century. The plans will be presented in broader contexts on thematic panels, supplemented by the latest physical model of height regulation for the entire Prague.
The accompanying colloquium will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Lucerna Cinema from 9 AM to 2 PM, accessible for free to both professional and general audiences.
The rich program will comprehensively introduce the personality of the architect, urban planner, and filmmaker (and husband of the acting star Andula Sedláčková) Max Urban, including excerpts from his films with musical accompaniment.

The event is organized by the City of Prague in cooperation with the Institute of Planning and Development of the City of Prague, the National Technical Museum, and the National Film Archive.
It is held under the auspices of the First Deputy Mayor Petr Hlaváček.

More information and registration HERE.
Admission is free for both the exhibition and the colloquium.
The exhibition runs from May 27 to June 1, opening hours on weekdays: 2 PM - 7 PM, on Saturday 9 AM - 7 PM.
