Kyselka (Karlovy Vary) - Karlovy Vary mineral waters (KMV) are renovating another part of the former spa complex in Kyselka. A park has been created next to the Stalburg house, replacing an unnecessary unsightly garage. The original design of the benches is a tribute to the original narrow-gauge railway that ran nearby, said KMV lawyer Martin Hanzl to ČTK today. "We wanted the space to have some concept. The architect came up with the idea of using the remnants of the narrow-gauge track. The massive wooden benches are on wheels and move along the narrow rails,” Hanzl described. Parts of the stone exterior walls remain from the former garage, which served as a fire station and later as a storage facility. These will also be used for seating. Greens have been planted around them, and a lawn carpet has been laid. In the past, the heritage association ASORKD protested against the demolition of the garage. However, the Karlovy Vary Department of Heritage Care granted permission for its demolition. Although the park is primarily intended for the residents of the adjacent Stalburg house, where KMV built eight apartments for 25 million crowns, it will also be accessible to the public. The construction of the relaxation zone, including demolition and project costs, amounted to 1.9 million crowns. Work is also ongoing on the utilization of the Löschner pavilion in Kyselka, which also belongs to KMV. A Mattoni brand museum is set to be established there. According to Hanzl, the final version of the future form of the museum was approved last week, and the pavilion can begin to be renovated. According to current estimates, the new museum could be completed in May next year, Hanzl told ČTK. A larger part of the former extensive spa complex in Kyselka is managed by the non-profit organization Lázně Kyselka. It continues to rescue the heritage-protected buildings that were on the brink of long-term decay.
