The final engineering networks to the stalls at Lake Milada near Ústí will be completed before the season

Ústí nad Labem - The terminal engineering networks to the places where food stalls or rentals will be located by Lake Milada near Ústí nad Labem will be completed before the start of the season. Hana Volfová, spokesperson for the state enterprise Diamo, which manages the lake, said this to ČTK. The basic development documents for the area around the lake have been completed, and the construction of some architectural elements will begin next year. The area around the lake is being modified based on the winning project of an international landscape competition.

Before last summer's season, there was a threat that there would be no refreshments available on the beaches. The regional hygiene station granted stallholders an exemption in previous years, but last year, after five years, it decided not to do so. Ultimately, a contract with the stallholders was successfully concluded.

This year will be the last, according to Volfová, in which refreshment services or sports equipment rentals will be provided in the format of past years, that is, in facilities selected by providers as per their options, although connected to the newly built engineering networks. "However, starting next year, the rules for the installation of any structures in the territory of Lake Milada will apply exclusively according to the valid design manual. This will unify the design of individual facilities and, in our opinion, significantly increase the level and quality of services," the spokesperson stated.

In addition to the rules for the appearance of furniture, advertising, and artworks, the architects have also completed a conceptual study of the area, which is a plan for the gradual enhancement of the landscape around Milada. The first permanent structures by the lake will be a rest area with a grill at the site of the future campsite west of the main beach, an elevated resting area with a view of the southern wetlands, and a facility for athletes with changing rooms. Their construction could begin in 2024.

The state enterprise Palivový kombinát Ústí, which is a branch of Diamo, is negotiating with landowners where the planned parking lots will be located. There should be three, located at the entrances of Hrbovice, Trmice, and Roudníky, with a capacity of several hundred parking spaces. The affected municipalities will need to change their zoning plans as a result.

This year, a decision could be made regarding who will manage the area around the flooded mining pit of the brown coal mine. The Palivový kombinát Ústí will prepare a proposal for the relevant contractual documentation, and the municipalities will decide based on that whether they want to take over the location or not.

The filling of the lake began in 2001 and ended in 2010. The reclamation of the area cost 5.4 billion crowns. The lake, with an area of 252.2 hectares, ranks third among reclamation lakes in the Czech Republic and was opened to the public in May 2015. Its average depth is 15.5 meters, and its maximum depth is 24.7 meters.
