Krnov - The Krnov City Hall is looking for a city architect. Interested parties can apply for the selection process until September 5th, and must describe the urban problems of the city and outline their solutions. This was stated by the city spokesperson Dita Círová. The city will sign a contract with the selected candidate for four years, with a contract value of one million crowns.

The applicant should have education and experience in the field of architecture, be knowledgeable about urban planning and building law; a condition for participation in the selection process will be the submission of examples of their designs and successful realizations. "They will also have to present their vision for the urban and architectural development of Krnov," said councilor Pavla Löwenthalová.

Krnov has not had a city architect until now. However, an eleven-member commission for architectural and urban development, which includes four architects, works with the city council. The competition winner will collaborate with this commission. The work is expected to take about 40 hours a month. However, they will be available in the city for five hours a week for any consultations or site visits.

"The city architect will engage in consulting and advisory activities in the areas of architecture, urbanism, spatial planning, environmental issues, and heritage protection,"
said deputy mayor Michal Brunclík. He expects to collaborate with councilors and officials on the urban and architectural development of the city, on the creation of public spaces, and on the preparation and announcement of architectural and urban competitions. They should also influence the creation of the strategic plan.
