Krnov has a new city architect

Krnov - Krnov has a new city architect. Zuzana Stanjurová Mateiciucová has succeeded Lubomír Dehner, who held this position for the past three years and recently decided to end the collaboration. Dita Círová, spokesperson for the Krnov town hall, said this today.

The architect, originally from Opava, sees a number of opportunities for the city's development. "From a construction perspective, there is great potential in the still undeveloped center of the city and in the typical brownfields of Krnov. There is work to be done. It is about the long-term cultivation of the environment as a whole. I perceive Krnov as an economically autonomous and proud city, capable of its own development, which is important," she said.

The city established the position in 2017. The city architect is engaged in consultations and advice on issues of architecture, urbanism, spatial planning, the environment, and heritage conservation. He collaborates with representatives and officials on the urban and architectural development of the city, the creation of public space, and the preparation and announcement of architectural and urban competitions. He should also influence the creation of a strategic plan.

The town hall signed a contract with the architect for four years. The city expects that the city architect will work 80 hours a month for the town hall in the framework of consultations, and for that, he will receive 500 crowns per hour. In total, the architect's services should cost the city just under two million crowns over four years.
