Kutná Hora - Kutná Hora will establish the position of a city architect, whose task will be to oversee the urban development of the city. The city council approved the announcement of a public tender, with the new employee expected to start in January next year, Mayor Josef Viktora (ANO) told reporters today.
He reminded that Kutná Hora is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city architect will assess any interventions in the historical buildings and refine new projects as well. "For example, it is necessary to make landscaping adjustments around the sports hall," Viktora pointed out.
The architect is expected to work one day a week and will also be available to the public. "I believe that the position of city architect belongs in Kutná Hora," said Deputy Mayor Vít Šnajdr (Pirates). He expects great interest in the new position because Kutná Hora is a historical gem.
Viktora pointed out that other cities have also established the position of city architect and have had good experiences with it. "We also prioritized this in our program declaration," he added.
In Central Bohemia, there is a city architect in cities like Kolín, Beroun, Benešov, Mělník, Kladno, or Příbram.
