Liberec - Liberec has changed the rules for building construction in the zoning plan, allowing builders to build higher floors. The city hall hopes this will improve the quality of architecture and comfort for residents of new buildings. According to Deputy Mayor Adam Lenert (ANO), the change is based on insights and demands from designers and builders. The number of permitted floors for individual buildings remains unchanged.
"During the construction of buildings, they were forced to adhere to existing regulations that required them to design lower clear heights and structural heights of individual floors. As a result, those rooms had a clear height of two and a half meters, which is not very comfortable," Lenert told reporters. The so-called clear height represents the practically usable height of the structure. It is the vertical distance between the highest point of the lower edge and the lowest point of the upper edge of the usable space.
According to him, the so-called structural height for one floor has been raised by a quarter of a meter to 3.25 meters, and the so-called compensatory bonus from six to 6.5 meters. Lenert also emphasized that there will be no change in the number of permitted floors for individual buildings with this zoning plan change. "So there will not be a situation where it would be possible to add, for example, two more floors to buildings. That's not the case. It's just so that the building can grow in these individual floors to be comfortable and more user-friendly," added the deputy.
