Luhačovice - Luhačovice in the Zlín region want to create a new visual style for the city. The spa location has heraldic symbols but no logo, said Mayor Marian Ležák (independent) to ČTK.

"Considering that Luhačovice is a relatively significant brand and an important city, we want a logo to be created. But it’s not just about the logo; we want to work with the entire visual style, which means elements that we will place around the city, new websites," the mayor stated.

The city wants to collaborate with experts from both the academic sphere and the business sector in creating the new visual style. According to the mayor, the individual parts of the visual style should be completed this year.

"Luhačovice is regarded as the pearl of Moravia and a beautiful historic spa town; from the perspective of local government, we also feel the need for a certain change in the broader perception of our city by the public. It’s about ensuring that people also see us as a city that recognizes modern trends, adapts to the current needs of its citizens and visitors, and has its attractive unique style," Ležák stated. According to him, Luhačovice is not just a quiet spa town but also offers, for example, opportunities for active vacations spent cycling.

The city could also be characterized by three symbols, according to the mayor: the spa springs, the specific architecture of Dušan Jurkovič, and the landscape and forests that surround Luhačovice and offer opportunities for walks and excursions.

A new marketing brand and logo were created a few years ago in the Zlín region, for example, by Valašské Meziříčí in the Vsetín district. The logo works with the established abbreviation VALMEZ. The visual style is based on "dancing" letters and aims to capture Valašské Meziříčí as a city full of life, bursting with energy, and especially cultural and sporting spirit as well as civic life. The logo was designed by the Prague-based Studio Najbrt, which also created the logos for Prague, Ostrava, Czech Television, and the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
