Prague - A guide to the buildings that were created in the Czech Republic based on the designs of Slovenian architect Josip Plečnik was compiled by architectural historian Zdeněk Lukeš. Today, the book was launched at Prague Castle, which was significantly influenced by the famous architect, by the president's wife Livia Klaus. The presentation of the publication took place in the recently reconstructed South Gardens.

The renovation returned them to their original form, which was given to them by Plečnik in the 1920s. The publication presents, through texts and current photographs by Jiří Podrazil, the work of the world-famous Slovenian architect for Prague Castle and Lány, including some lesser-known or unpublished interventions.
The author and the photographer guide the readers through Prague Castle, the garden Na Baště, the recently reopened and Plečnik-inspired reconstructed Paradise Garden (Rajská zahrada), and the garden Na Valech, the Column Hall, the apartment of Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, the Masaryk viewpoint, and the Royal Villa. Plečnik's traces are also followed in the Hvězda game preserve and in the castle park and castle in Lány. The most significant Plečnik architectural work in Prague, besides the Castle, is the Church of the Most Sacred Heart of Our Lord in Vinohrady.
The book also presents Plečnik's early works in Czech territory, including the monument to industrialist Josef Schroll in Broumov in the Náchod region, the Kratochvíl tomb at the Křivoklát cemetery, and the facade of an apartment building in Prague's Old Town.
The book was published in cooperation with the Administration of Prague Castle by the Foibos publishing house, which has long dedicated itself to architecture. The publication is released on the 140th anniversary of Plečnik's birth this year. The guide is an expanded and supplemented version of a booklet that was published on the occasion of the Plečnik exhibition at Prague Castle in 1996 and was sold out within a few months.
