Kyselka (Karlovy Vary) - Before the start, there is a rescue of Mattoni's villa in Kyselka in the Karlovy Vary region. This is the first significant reconstruction prepared by the non-profit organization Lázně Kyselka, which has taken on the effort to save the former spa complex. According to the director of the o.p.s. Miroslav Perout, the work will consist of two tasks: clearing the villa and stabilizing it, he told ČTK. "The first technological step is clearing the rubble and everything that is collapsed in the villa. This will be followed by the stabilization of the structure. This will mean creating support structures and underpinning the structures that have not yet collapsed," described Perout. The o.p.s. took over the project for stabilizing Mattoni's villa, which was created last year. However, it had to be adjusted due to further damage. "We had to make a new bill of quantities. To ensure it is contracted for the price it will cost and to avoid extra work," explained Perout. The immediate area around the villa has been cleared of invasive trees by the company, which will allow access for the construction firm to the building and support the drying of the structure. As part of this, artifacts that have fallen from the villa in recent decades were collected and placed into storage for future use during the villa's reconstruction. "Now we are in a phase where we have prepared the tender conditions, we have a call ready. It will be a sub-threshold contract of up to ten million crowns, so we must legally solicit five companies. We are therefore looking for firms that have experience with similar work and will do it with their own forces," said Perout. The company aims to roof the villa before winter. Careful preparation is essential according to Perout, as the o.p.s. is obtaining funds from donors for the rescue of Kyselka, who will closely monitor the appropriateness of the money spent. Concurrently with the preparation for the rescue of Mattoni's villa, work is also underway on other facilities in the spa zone. The non-profit organization Lázně Kyselka was established last year through an agreement between the municipality, property owners, and the city of Karlovy Vary. Karlovarské minerální vody entered the non-profit organization Lázně Kyselka, transferring the necessary lands for construction work and 20 million crowns to it. The buildings were also transferred to the o.p.s. by the company RIS, which owned most of the structures. The o.p.s. Lázně Kyselka aims not only to save valuable and monument-protected buildings but also to find a meaningful use for them. Gradually, the houses in Kyselka could be transformed into restaurants, guesthouses, and one building is being prepared by Karlovarské minerální vody for a museum, and so on.
