Brno - The Brno Museum Night will not take place this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions. It was supposed to take place in the spring, but the organizers postponed it to November 14. They have now decided to cancel the event, which typically attracts thousands of visitors, without a replacement for this year. This was announced by Daniela Křižanová, spokesperson for the Moravian Gallery.

Each year, a number of cultural institutions in Brno and the surrounding area participate in Brno Museum Night. They are now searching for a new date in 2021.

"The Moravian Gallery, as the main organizer of Brno Museum Night, has reacted to the uncertain situation and the doubts of other institutions about holding an event of such a large scale. We firmly believe that we will make up for the Museum Night for visitors with even greater effort next year," said Andrea Vojtěchovská, deputy director of the Moravian Gallery.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus and tightened measures, many other cultural events in Brno are gradually being postponed. The Groove Brno festival has newly informed about the postponement of some concerts.

"Currently, we are a risk area for many countries, and therefore it is beyond our power to bring bands from abroad here. And in light of the current state of emergency and the ban on singing, it is not possible to realistically hold the concerts. We are actively searching for dates for them in 2021," the organizers announced on Facebook.

At least some of the festival concerts planned for Sono Center will take place, specifically the Tribute to Radim Hladík, Folk Swings, and Roman Dragoun Project, as well as the performance of the Jazz Mass by Jaromír Hnilička at St. James's Church.
