Nový Jičín - The town of Nový Jičín is preparing a regulatory plan for buildings in the heritage-protected center. The preparation of the plan will cost 785,000 crowns. The plan will specify the exact conditions for land use and for the placement, arrangement, and appearance of buildings in the heritage-valued area. This was stated by the city hall spokesperson Marie Machková. "The current urban planning documentation is from 1995. It is already outdated and does not meet the current requirements for the development of the area. The regulatory plan is also more detailed compared to the zoning plan. It is currently being developed by a designer, and the proposal will then be discussed with public participation," said Kateřina Riedlová, head of the Nový Jičín Department of Urban Planning and Building Regulations.
The regulatory plan should be approved by June 30, 2019. "The city has already requested a grant from the Ministry for Regional Development from the IROP fund. This can cover up to 90 percent of the eligible costs of the project," Machková stated.
The historic core of Nový Jičín has been a town monument reserve since January 18, 1967. The reserve includes more than 50 buildings and structures, including a castle, town hall, church, Hotel Praha, city fortifications with a bastion, and a column with a statue of the Virgin Mary and a fountain.
