This could be completed by the end of this year, said Chodov's mayor Josef Hora to ČTK. "The preparation of the zoning plan took about two years. It should be valid for another 15 years," Hora stated. The document specifies which parts of the city should be designated for future construction, such as family houses and industrial buildings. Investors, who want to build a new Tesco supermarket in Chodov, have also been waiting for the approval of the zoning plan. It is to be located near the current bus station. Additionally, important changes in the traffic solutions for the entire bus station and its surroundings will also be part of the construction. The bus station, which was built very generously with many platforms decades ago, is expected to be reduced in size. However, it should provide more comfort for travelers. Access to the station will be resolved with a roundabout. Behind the station, a supermarket with a parking lot will be constructed. "Work on the traffic solution could begin regardless of the zoning plan, but it's clear that investors were waiting for its approval because it wouldn't be possible to build the store without it. After obtaining a building permit, work could start around the summer. Everything could be finished by the end of the year," Hora said.
