Nymburk - Nymburk has already sent the project documentation for the reconstruction of the municipal swimming pool, worth more than one hundred million crowns, to the relevant authorities and is awaiting the zoning decision. According to Deputy Mayor Jan Ritter (Nymburk Democrats), the pool renovation should be considered an "investment of the century" from the perspective of the fifteen-thousand-strong city.

Visitors could swim in the new pool for the first time in 2020. This year, the city council aims to complete all necessary documentation so that reconstruction can start next year.

Nymburk also plans to build a new parking lot for visitors to the pool, with the area in front of the police building selected as a suitable location. According to city spokesperson Petr Černohouse, the city will announce a tender for the documentation developer.

The city proposal includes the demolition of the entrance building and changing rooms, and the construction of a new, larger one. According to the city hall, the current state is inadequate, primarily due to the division of the changing rooms into two floors. The first floor of the new building will have changing rooms, while the second will feature wellness facilities, which will also be accessible from the pool.

A major change will also be the addition of a new hall with an irregular arrangement of pools. The largest pool in the new hall will be a recreational rectangular pool with a geyser and a pair of water spouts. The central area will consist of a large circular whirlpool with massage benches, while the last section will feature a pair of rectangular pools for children. One of the children's pools will have a slide.

The city plans to construct the largest attraction of the pool - a waterslide. The actual tube will extend outside the building, with the landing and entrance located in the new hall.

Ritter stated that the city hall wants to make the pool sufficiently attractive, while also considering a reasonable entry fee that people are willing to pay.

Nymburk approved a budget of approximately 419 million crowns for this year. Several tens of millions of crowns from this year's budget will go towards investments in the repair of buildings and public spaces.
