Four entities are interested in the construction of the stadium in Hradec Králové.

Hradec Králové – Four entities are interested in the construction of a new football stadium in Hradec Králové. This was stated today by the Deputy Mayor for Investments Jiří Bláha (ODS) at the meeting of the city council. The tender announced by the city on September 4 is the fourth in order and is valued at nearly 600 million crowns excluding VAT.

In the first round of the tender, applicants had to meet qualification conditions. All of them met the requirements and advanced to the second round, in which they will be able to submit preliminary offers until February 5. Following their submission, discussions will take place with the participants in the tender. The subject of these discussions will be to improve the proposals in favor of the city. "Subsequently, we will invite the participants to submit their final offers," Bláha stated earlier.

The city has been preparing the construction at the site of the partially demolished multi-sport stadium for over 15 years and it is one of the priority investments of Hradec. The contract is announced through the Design and Build method, meaning Design and Construct. The basic requirements for the size and functions of the stadium are set by the city. The city intends to select the winner of the tender this year. The company will have two years for design and construction.

The competition is being resolved in administrative proceedings by the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) due to an objection from the construction company PORR, so the city cannot sign a contract with a potential winner because of this. The PORR company is dissatisfied with certain tender conditions and the established evaluation criteria.

The stadium, which will serve as the base for the second league club FC Hradec Králové, should meet UEFA category 4 standards, which are for stadiums for international matches. It should also meet the requirement for a multifunctional arena. The capacity of the arena should be 8,000 spectators with the possibility of increasing it to 9,300 seats. All seats should be covered. The city would like to obtain state funding for the construction.
