Kladruby nad Labem - The Pardubice region is preparing extensive investments in its Secondary School of Horse Breeding and Riding in Kladruby nad Labem. It aims to renovate the dormitory and build a new riding hall for the school. Project documentation for both constructions is currently being prepared, said Roman Línek (Coalition for Pardubice Region), the deputy governor. A renovation of the specialized classroom and cafeteria is also being planned.
The dormitory is in unsatisfactory condition, and the equipment is significantly outdated. It will be necessary to renovate all electrical connections, replace floors, tiles, interior doors, and fans in the rooms. The replacement of water and sewerage systems will be completed, and new sanitary facilities will be provided in the accommodation units. The elevator will also be renovated.
"Operations around horses require different hygiene equipment than we are used to elsewhere, such as a room for washing boots and similar facilities," said Governor Martin Netolický (ČSSD). The dormitory will be renovated floor by floor so that its operation can be maintained. Construction could start at the end of next summer, and the costs are not yet known.
The construction of a new riding hall in the school premises will cost approximately 47 million crowns. The renovation of the original riding hall in the stud farm area was rejected by the regional leadership, as the plan was not favored by heritage protectors. "We are counting on the project for the European call; if we fail to obtain a grant, we would proceed with a delay," Línek stated.
For the school, the location of the riding hall within the premises will be more advantageous. The new building will connect to the student accommodation facility, will have hygiene facilities, a storage room for obstacles, and a grandstand at the upper part. In the future, further phases could include spaces for stable boxes, a saddle room, and a washing box.
The school is also expecting the renovation of the demonstration classroom. It is scheduled to take place from March to August next year, with costs expected to reach around seven million crowns. This year, the regional leadership also approved the preparation of project documentation for the renovation of the catering facility. The total estimated costs are 12 million crowns, and construction is expected to begin in 2019.
The riding school has around 120 apprentices. After three years of study, they receive a vocational certificate in the field of rider and horse breeder.
