Karlovy Vary - The preparation of the land use plan will be taken over by the newly established Office of City Architecture (KAM) in Karlovy Vary. Thus, the activities of the working group that has so far taken care of the development of the new land use plan for the city will come to an end. The basic development document is expected to be approved in mid-2019, said Mayor Petr Kulhánek (KOA) to ČTK. "Already at the establishment of the Office of City Architecture, we announced its main work activities. One of them was land use planning. And precisely the activities that the working group has been carrying out so far will be taken over by the Office of Architecture within about three months," Kulhánek stated.
According to the mayor, the five-member working group cost the city around 100,000 monthly. This money will be saved by the city hall. However, Karlovy Vary will allocate approximately four million crowns to the Office of City Architecture this year. Its activities, however, are significantly broader than just the preparation of the land use plan.
The new land use plan, from which practically all planned investments in the city derive, is noticeably lacking in Karlovy Vary. So far, the representatives have only approved a few exceptions from the current land use plan. Other intentions have had to wait.
The new land use plan is expected to go into public discussion probably in the summer of this year. The final acceptance date of the land use plan will then depend on the amount of comments and the time required to resolve them.
