Rakovník - Rakovník continues to prepare for the use of solar energy in municipal buildings. The most advanced project is the photovoltaic system on the roof of the swimming pool. The city is applying for a grant for this construction and is currently awaiting the result. At the same time, the building permit process has already begun. Additional solar panels could be placed at three schools, for which the city has so far prepared technical and economic studies. These are the 3rd Elementary School, V Parku Kindergarten, and Průběžná Kindergarten. Other buildings where the city could install solar panels will be indicated in the document being prepared on the topic of energy, replied Kateřina Hradilová, spokesperson of the Rakovník city hall, to ČTK's inquiry.

As soon as the application for the installation of solar panels on the roof of the swimming pool is approved, the city will start looking for technology suppliers through a public competition. For the selected three schools, capacity in the grid has been reserved so far. "In order to proceed with the preparations for the installation, we will now be selecting suppliers of project documentation for these schools," described Hradilová.

The concept that will help the city manage its energy resources is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
