Třemošná - The five-thousand-strong town of Třemošná, nine kilometers from Plzeň, will have a new cultural house by December for 34 million CZK. Including the demolition of the original building, equipment, and hall acoustics, the construction will cost around 40 million CZK. The modern two-story building will feature a multipurpose cultural hall with a stage, a restaurant, three club rooms for community activities, and two galleries overlooking the hall, said Tomáš Rek, media representative of the Plzeň firm MIRAS - construction and remediation, which has completed the rough construction and is modifying the surroundings.

According to mayor Jaromír Zeithaml (SNK Třemošná 2022), the building will open in February, once quality hall acoustics, equipment, a restaurant tenant, and similar arrangements are secured. "We did not receive a grant, but we have applied for funds for the demolition of the original building number 1, which was technically inadequate and unused for a long time. It was the first house to receive a number. The entire spread-out village along the stream is historical; there were houses with thatched roofs, but everyone has already remodeled them," he stated.

According to the mayor, the hall will accommodate about 100 people. Třemošná also has another cultural house in its Záluží section, where the hall can hold up to 150 people. "That is just right for balls and entertainment today, as they are diminishing. We would rather have some productions, theater, films, and similar. It will be sufficiently utilized - a music school will also operate there," said Zeithaml. The club rooms on the upper floor will be for associations and groups that lack spaces – for theater, choirs, and others, as well as for seniors to meet.

The municipality is now preparing the reconstruction of the adjacent small square, aiming for better transport accessibility and calming. Small gardens will be created in front of the building for the restaurant and cultural and social events. There will be greenery in the adjacent areas for relaxation.

"The original building held a place in the city's organism, so it was important to build on its floor plan and scale. We conceived the building as a simple, compact mass with a gabled roof and a white facade," said architect Luboš Kouřim from the Plzeň office Architekt s.r.o. The goal was for the new house to naturally fit into the surrounding development and to be a quality public space.

The new cultural house is being built at the corner of Americká, Plaská, and Družstevní streets in an area designated as a mixed rural residential zone by the zoning plan. About 100 meters away, there used to be a cultural house, which the town sold to a local company, and now there is a bicycle shop.
