Kutná Hora - In Kutná Hora, a competition is being prepared for the construction of a new sports hall that would be used by schools and sports clubs. A private investor wants to build it in the area near the Kamenná stezka Elementary School. Whether this will actually happen will only become clear from the selection process, said Deputy Mayor Jiří Franc (Chance for Kutná Hora).

"There is a company that has assumed from the beginning that it would be the one to build the hall. But whether it will be indeed them will be shown only by the selection process," said the deputy mayor. According to him, the announcement of the tender is a matter of a few days. "In recent days, the tender documentation was being adjusted and rechecked," he said.
The estimated investment is between 50 and 60 million crowns. The council also decided that the winner of the tender must purchase the land under the sports hall. Its price is 1.8 million crowns. "Whoever builds the hall must buy the land for this amount," added the deputy mayor.
The hall, which according to earlier information is expected to have seating for 200 to 300 people, would serve schoolchildren for most of the day and in the afternoons for teams of indoor sports such as handball, floorball, basketball, volleyball, or futsal.
The city had previously counted on financial assistance from the region, which was promised to them shortly before his arrest by the then governor David Rath (previously of the ČSSD party). Next to it is an industrial school established by the region, and the governor's office wished for the students to be able to use the hall. However, the current leadership of the region is cutting costs, so it is questionable whether they would find funds for the project in the budget.
The town hall has also prepared part of the project documentation for the construction of a sports hall in the Na Klimešce area. The creation of this multifunctional hall for 140 to 150 million crowns, which should also have training facilities, is, according to the city's leadership, unrealistic under the current conditions.
