Kutná Hora - Six candidates have applied for the competition to complete the sports hall in Kutná Hora. After reviewing all the requirements, they will be invited to participate in the electronic auction, with construction expected to take place this year, said Mayor Josef Viktora (ANO) to ČTK today.
Costs are estimated at over 40 million crowns, half of which will be covered by a grant from the Ministry of Education. According to the city hall, the amount should be 21.9 million CZK.
Kutná Hora originally wanted to use an option and automatically assign the contract to the company that was already constructing the hall. However, costs must not exceed about 24 million crowns, which, according to the mayor, is not realistic. Thus, a new competition had to be announced for the final phase.
The hall began to be built in 2016 and has been serving athletes since last May. The first part of the work, which included the construction of the main building, cost 60.5 million crowns, and the city hall received a grant from the Ministry of Education and from the region for it. The city did not receive a grant for the second phase, which was the construction of facilities for athletes. Approximately 78 million crowns had to be paid from an investment loan. This part of the construction was completed last year. The final phase, which involves the creation of training facilities, remains.
According to the mayor, the surroundings of the hall should also be adjusted, likely using money from the city budget. "We commissioned a study on how the surroundings of the hall should look," Viktora stated.
The multifunctional hall is intended for basketball, handball, volleyball, futsal, and floorball players. It can also host social and cultural events, such as lectures, fairs, or exhibitions.
