Prague - The Austrian company OCL Holding wants to build a new multipurpose center in Prague 9 near the Střížkov metro station. It is primarily to consist of offices and shops. The Czech Press Agency learned this today from documents submitted by the company as part of the environmental impact assessment (EIA).

The office buildings are to have a gross floor area of around 60,000 square meters, while the shopping center will measure 6,000 square meters. The investor wants to have 15 above-ground floors in two of the three planned administrative buildings, while the third building is set to have 11 floors.
Ideally, the builder wants to start construction in March 2012. "The exact date depends on the actual course of the approval processes," states the documentation. The developer intends to decide on further steps after obtaining a legally binding zoning decision. The state of secured financing will play a key role in his decision-making. The company estimates that construction alone will take three years.
The location in the north of Prague that the Austrian builder has chosen has also caught the eye of other developers. The domestic company Finep is planning to build new office buildings in Střížkov. In Letňany, Hochtief Development is preparing a large office complex. Three administrative buildings of J&T Real Estate already stand in Prosek. The same developer is planning another multipurpose center, Prosek Court, there.
