Vizovice - The town hall in Vizovice, in the Zlín region, is preparing a reconstruction of the swimming pool. The estimated costs are 20 million crowns. They have commissioned a project for the reconstruction, and construction and zoning proceedings are currently underway, said town hall spokesperson Gabriela Netopilová Sluštíková to ČTK today. The swimming pool has been closed for several years, with the last time people swimming there being in 2007.

The city has prepared the renewal of the complex several times, but each time it was ultimately abandoned. According to the current project, a new stainless steel pool measuring 30 by 14 meters will be created in the original reinforced concrete basins. It will be divided into a swimming, relaxation, and non-swimming section.

“The project further includes a large and small slide, water jets, a wave pool, an air bench, a water hedgehog, and a spraying animal. Of course, it is important for the pool to be accessible for disabled people,”
said Mayor Sylvie Dolanská (independent).

The twenty-million investment does not account for the reconstruction of the changing rooms, which the city had a new roof installed on last year, nor the toilets. “Only minor internal modifications will be necessary. However, everything is fully functional, and there is no need to reconstruct them immediately - together with the repair and modernization of the pool,” the mayor said.

If the project receives construction and zoning decisions and gets approved by the councilors, the swimming pool could be opened to the public in 2020.
