Vsetín - The Vsetín Town Hall is preparing to renovate the municipal baths. Work will begin in January next year and is expected to last until the end of the summer holidays. Throughout the duration of the work, the area will be closed to the public, the town hall spokesperson Alexandra Buršíková informed CTK in a press release today.

The renovation will concern the pool technology, air conditioning, central heating, electrical installation, and water heating. There will also be a replacement of the tiles on the inner walls and the bottom of the twenty-five-meter pool, as well as on the terraces. The supporting structure of the toboggan's run will also be new.

"The toboggan tube itself will be dismantled and replaced with a new one of the same appearance. The roof of the toboggan tower will be demolished and rebuilt, including the supporting steel structure," said the town hall's construction technician Petr Findeis. The lockers will have electronic locks operated by chip bracelets.

The town is currently obtaining the necessary permits, and the tender for the construction contractor should take place in the second half of this year. "The investment in the renovation of the municipal baths is expected to amount to 31 million crowns excluding value-added tax," said Mayor Jiří Růžička (KDU-ČSL).

The last major renovations of the baths took place in 2002 and 2003, when the town hall had a toboggan and an extension with children's and relaxation pools and a whirlpool built.
