Prague - Exhibitions, fashion shows, and open studios of designers will be brought by the eleventh edition of Designblok, which starts today in Prague and will last until Sunday. This year's design days will be infused with a spring mood - referring to the revival and renaissance experienced by the collaboration of local designers with domestic manufacturers. Visitors will find at Designblok displays of furniture, glass, porcelain, jewelry, toys, fashion, footwear, and other items crafted by top foreign and Czech designers and manufacturers. Among the participants of the show are 63 design shops, 24 fashion designers, and 125 design studios, designers, schools, and institutions. The center of Designblok is Superstudio, this year there will be two, both located in Holešovice. Superstudio Classic 7 on Jankovcova Street will host traditional exhibition projects of companies as well as designers and school studios. Classic 7 is a newly renovated building of former mills. The second Superstudio A7 on U Průhonu Street is also located in a building that originated from industrial spaces, from the Holešovice brewery. Both buildings, or rather their reconstructions, are also part of the architectural presentations of creators at Designblok. An important component of Designblok is the project Milky Way, which confronts young European talents. This year, Designblok will showcase a record number of Czech manufacturers who increasingly base their production programs on high-quality design. Alongside the current collections of well-known Czech fashion designers, major fashion houses will also be represented at Designblok.
