Zbyněk Baladrán and Vít Havránek will present their two-year theoretical and artistic trajectory as curators of Manifesta 8, the European Biennial of Contemporary Art. The nomadic biennial has been held since 1996, and its eighth edition takes place from October 2010 to January 2011 in the Spanish cities of Cartagena and Murcia. Both curators participated in the biennial as part of the international initiative tranzit.org, one of the three curatorial collectives invited to this project. They also recently collaborated on the Monument of Transformation, a three-year research project on social and political transformation, which was presented last year in the form of an exhibition at the Gallery of the Capital City of Prague and is traveling to several other cities in Europe and America. Its outcome was also the book Atlas of Transformation (2009).
