On Thursday May 3, 2018 at 7:30 PM, a lecture from the series Another Perspective will take place at the Světozor Cinema, Vodičkova 41 in Prague, featuring two progressive German studios from Munich and Berlin. Architect Andreas Hild from the studio Hild und K Architekten will show how it is currently possible to conceive the facades of urban houses. The second lecturer will be Jan Kleihues, who will speak, among other things, about the importance of choosing suitable materials and the significance of craftsmanship quality.
The work of the architectural studio Hild und K emphasizes the tangibility of plasters. Architect Andreas Hild, who was one of the first students of Miroslav Šik at the Technical University of Munich and ETH Zurich, will come to present the studio and its work, with which he created the concept of analog architecture. That is, architecture that connects the old with the new.
The second lecturer will be Jan Kleihues from the studio Kleihues+Kleihues. In his lecture titled "On Location – Function – Order and the Freedom of Beauty," he will present his essential Berlin projects. “Our buildings always stem from the cultural context and reflect the specific characteristics of a particular place. The functionality of the designs and the durability of constructions are the basis for economical and ecological use of available resources. We place great importance on selecting appropriate materials and ensuring craftsmanship quality in all construction work down to the smallest detail,” says Jan Kleihues about the studio's work.
The lecture will be translated from German into Czech. Admission: 80 /100 CZK
