The KRUH association has invited inspiring architects from abroad for the year 2018 The lecture series "Another Perspective," organized by the KRUH association, will continue this year following last year's success. This time, a total of 13 architects from France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, and Spain will present their work. They will discuss urban planning, constructions in war-torn areas, and destructivism in architecture. The lectures will be kicked off on March 1 at CAMP IPR Prague by Swiss architects Marc Angélil and Raphael Zuber. The lecture evenings, followed by discussions, will take place every first Thursday of the month from March to December. The aim is to enrich the Czech scene with views from prominent figures in world architecture, both in theoretical and practical terms. The project continues the namesake series from 2017, which was met with great interest from both experts and the general public. This year, KRUH will structure most evenings as double lectures featuring experts from many European countries. “For 2018, we have invited 13 architects from European countries who will present their work and perspectives on architecture as part of 7 lecture evenings. We have reached out to other notable personalities who complement the previous series, showcasing unique and exceptional endeavors in architecture and urban development,” says architect Marcela Steinbachová, founder of the KRUH association, regarding the lecture series. March will feature the young generation of Swiss architects, represented by Marc Angélil from the prestigious ETH Zurich architecture faculty, who focuses on the topic of city and landscape, and architect Raphael Zuber. In April, progressive Indian architect Anupama Kundoo, who lives and works in Spain, will present her perspectives on urban planning and the challenges of rapid development and associated urbanization. In May, German architect Andreas Hild from Hild und K Architekten will showcase how urban building facades can be perceived today, emphasizing their tangibility. The spring lecture series will conclude with a presentation by prominent Austrian architect of the older generation, prof. Carl Pruscha, and one of the most prominent figures of deconstructivism, Wolf D. Prix from the Coop Himmelb(l)au studio. The autumn series will be introduced by prominent German architect prof. Hans Kollhoff, who defined a landmark with his DaimlerChrysler building at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin. Until recently, Hans Kollhoff served as a professor at the ETH Zurich architecture faculty, influencing many contemporary architects. The November lecture will focus on social housing and housing for refugees. This topic is addressed by the Italian studio TAMassociati, whose constructions can be found in many war zones. The evening will conclude with the innovative studio Barozzi/Veiga from Spain. The series will be closed by a lecture from Spanish architects Cadaval & Solà-Morales and French architect Rudi Ricciotti, whose buildings have received significant European awards. “The lectures will introduce several innovative architects who are distinctive, creative, and unique, offering a different perspective on architecture, regardless of their country of origin. The dramaturgy of the Another Perspective series introduces various areas of architecture, with unconventional approaches, and thematically, the individual lectures differ from each other. We aim to familiarize the Czech audience with the most broadly diverse range of architecture and urbanism while bringing new insights from abroad that we consider inspirational,” adds Marcela Steinbachová regarding this year's cycle. Finding a unique perspective that does not copy patterns is the curatorial mission of this association. The first lecture will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at the Prague venue CAMP. Two Swiss architects will showcase their work. Marc Angélil has long been associated with the prestigious ETH Zurich, focusing on the subject of city and landscape, especially concentrating on the social and territorial development of metropolises worldwide. The second guest will be Raphael Zuber, who also engages in pedagogical activities apart from his architectural practice. He will speak on the topic of space and how it influences our lives during the lecture. Admission to selected lectures will be free, while some will charge 100 CZK for adults and 80 CZK for students.
