Michal Kohout: Typology of Places
We would like to invite you to a lecture by assoc. prof. Ing. arch. Michal Kohout titled Typology of Places. The lecture will take place at the Faculty of Architecture VUT in Brno on Thursday, November 26, 2015, at 5 PM in classroom A118. You are all warmly invited.
Michal Kohout studied at the Faculty of Architecture CTU and the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He has worked in various studios in the Czech Republic, Great Britain, and Spain. Before founding the company UNIT architects, he was a partner at the Jiran Kohout architects office for sixteen years. He is a licensed architect, a member of the Czech Chamber of Architects, and has a number of awarded projects in the field of housing, multifunctional, and public buildings.
Since 2012, Michal Kohout has been the head of the Institute of Building Science and the guarantor of the housing program at the Faculty of Architecture CTU, where he also leads a studio (with D. Tichý) and teaches a course on building ensembles at the Institute of Urbanism. He is a co-founder of the publishing house Zlatý řez and the research organization Quality of Housing Center.
