The cycle of lectures offcity architects 2010 focuses even more on the topic of public space compared to last year. It will present architects who actively engage with public spaces in their practice and are also "stars" of the Czech architectural scene, whose work can be compared in a broader European context.
The architectural office A69-architects, Ltd. transformed into its current form from the association Atelier 69 (founded in 1994) in 2003. The founding members were the duo Boris Redčenkov and Prokop Tomášek, later joined by Jaroslav Wertig. "A sixty-nine" is currently one of the most prominent architectural studios in the Czech Republic. Throughout its activities, they have received numerous awards, including the Grand Prix of Architects 2008 and the prestigious European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture - Mies van der Rohe Award 2003. Their architecture is featured in foreign magazines and media, their urban projects, proposals for the revitalization of public spaces, and residential building projects are examples of contemporary approaches to architecture.
Organized by the non-profit organization Terra Madoda as part of the project OFFICTY 2010. This project is realized with the support of the statutory city of Pardubice and the Czech Architecture Foundation.
