The eleventh evening full of creative presentations titled PechaKucha Night will take place in the historic building of the J.K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň on November 28. Instead of actors, invited guests will appear on stage with presentations in an unconventional style. The gala PechaKucha Night starts at the traditional time of 20:20 and it will definitely be worth attending!
PechaKucha Night has always opened old, forgotten, or no longer used buildings. In the past, it was, for example, the closed cinema Hvězda or the former municipal baths. However, the eleventh PechaKucha Night in Plzeň will be different. This time the venue is the Grand Theatre. And what can the audience look forward to? This is revealed by the organizer of the event, Alice Slavíčková: “One of the guests will be the world-class slackliner Anička Kuchařová, who will not just present images.”
Next, sculptor, artist, dancer, and holder of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award for 2010, František Skála, will present his work, as will Stanislav Martinec, an entrepreneur involved in modular architecture, whose company will build the Czech pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan. Other guests will include Míra Valeš, Michaela Mertlová, Lukáš Kijonka, Anna Leschinger, Ludvík Grym, Evžen Sobek, and Aleš Najbrt. Biographies of individual guests are published on the Facebook pages of Plzeň’s PechaKucha Night.
After the evening, there will be an afterparty right on the stage of the Grand Theatre. The event is organized by the non-profit organization k světu., which is behind many projects revitalizing public space. Projects by k světu. include, among others, Náplavka k světu., Kontejnery k světu., Fresh Air Gallery, and Parking Day. The partner is Plzeň 2015.
