On Tuesday, June 25th at 18:00, renowned architect Robert Konieczny will give a lecture at the Polish Institute in Prague. The topic of the lecture will be his projects in the area of family houses.
The Prague publishing house FOIBOS is releasing another book from its Famous Villas series. The new publication is entirely devoted to Poland and features a richly illustrated guide to Polish villa architecture from baroque residences to the most contemporary projects. Photographs are accompanied by comments from leading Polish architects and architectural historians. The launch of the Polish and English editions of the book (the Czech edition will be released in the fall) is associated with the opening of an exhibition showcasing selected buildings, divided into two parts: besides the gallery of the Polish Institute, it can also be viewed at any time on the fence of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland. The evening with the famous villas of Poland will begin at 18:00 with a lecture by Robert Konieczny, a world-renowned architect and a figure of the latest stage in the history of Polish villa architecture. The exhibition in the gallery of the Polish Institute will be opened by Jerzy Ilkosz, director of the Museum of Architecture in Wrocław. The project by the FOIBOS publishing house, Famous Villas of Poland, has been supported, among others, by the Polish Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, as well as the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland. The patronage has been taken by the First Lady, Mrs. Anna Komorowska. The exhibition has previously been presented at the Wrocław Museum of Architecture, and its parts have also been on display at the European Parliament in Brussels and at the Center of Architecture in Ostrava.
