Fresh Fruit cordially invites you to lectures and discussions as part of the SINGULARCH project – a series of informal meetings focused on contemporary architecture that transcends disciplinary boundaries and responds to current societal challenges. The lectures and discussions showcase unique approaches and projects from both local and foreign studios that connect architecture with art, research, politics, and activism.
At the autumn edition of SINGULARCH, the Berlin studio b+ will present its engaged and research-oriented approach to architecture. Their projects often do not emerge as realized buildings but as exhibitions, mappings, texts, or spatial interventions. b+ critically analyzes processes such as gentrification, land speculation, and the privatization of public goods. In collaboration with communities, they strive to seek alternative strategies for the management and use of urban space. As they say: “Our proposals are constructed arguments." Their practice connects architecture with ecological, postcolonial, and political discourse.
The local scene will be represented by architect Róbert Bakyta from the studio BAKYTA architekti, whose work is known for its clear conceptual framework, emphasis on continuity, and precise handwriting. Bakyta has long focused particularly on the architecture of cultural and public buildings that reflect the local context, respect history, and simultaneously bring new meaning to the environment. In his lecture, he will present an approach that is based on thoughtful detail, construction purity, and architecture as a tool for cultivating space.
However, this time it won’t be all! The architectural evening at TU–BA will not end after the presentations; after 8:00 PM, the stage will be taken over by CLUBOVKA, which will welcome representatives from the Swiss studio Lütjens Padmanabhan Architekt*innen.
